Antique Photograph and Memories

I will be away from my computer for 3 days, so I'm repeating an older post I wrote when I first started my blog--no one knew I was around then, so in the spirit of Vintage, something old can become new again!

MEMORIES:

Lately, many memories have been passing through my mind; it's been strange, like watching old movies. I don't know where they are all coming from, but a lot of them are from my childhood. I've often wished I had the ability to go back in time for just a short while to revisit people and places. For example, I'd love to have a day back with my children when they were small (a GOOD day, not one of the ones where the baby cried all night or when all of them had the chickenpox at the same time!) or I'd love to see my dad again for one more day when he was well and happy. Or wouldn't it be fun to just jump into an old photo and talk with the people in the picture for awhile? This is a cabinet card photo of my great grandmother. Her name was Rose. I only knew her as an old lady when I was young, but I'd love to know what she was like as a child. Was she quiet, and somber, as she looks in the picture, or was there a lively, fun-loving and mischievous side to her? Feel free to use the photo in your artwork-Please leave a comment with a link to your picture of what you created!

What a wonderful post and what a lovely picture of your great grandmother! I took it and I will use it on a collage greeting card and I will let you know when I am finished so you can see what I have done with it. Thanks! What a great photo.

Yes it would be nice to step into this picture and talk to her. I have lately thought about doing that with my Father. It would be so great if I could just have one day to talk to him. His ear would be hurting with all the questions and things I want to say to him.

I am hosting a ATC Father's Day Swap and would love it if you could join us. Just go to the Post on my blog about it and comment or just email me.

I love you blog and I will be back again soon.
Hugs
God Bless You

Hi Jann, Your great gran. is precious. I've often wished to be w/all 3 of my children at an early cute age all together! ie-ex: all 3 at the age of 17 months. To go into the past into our ancestry would be really neat-

PS-Your comments are as sweet as the 'aura' from your photo.Does that sound strange? translation- you seem like a very nice person:)
